Celebrate Christmas in style with Marketing Cheltenham – 19th November

We love summer at Marketing Cheltenham so now it’s passed we wanted to keep ourselves busy this September with plenty of events and opportunities to see you lot! Here’s what we’ve been up to:

Cheltenham Festival of Cycling 2019

Cheltenham Festival of Cycling – 1st September

September kicked off with a new format cycling race, following on from the successful community cycling event in May. It saw hundreds of spectators take to the town to watch the event, take part in the free activities in Montpellier Gardens, including 180 children taking advantage of the Junior Course, and visitors taking advantage of some shopping and dining whilst in Cheltenham.

Taking England to the World – 17th September

Thank you to those who joined us for the Visit Britain training at The Queen’s Hotel. The training aimed to help businesses to become internationally ready. From learning about the international travel trade to developing a targeted marketing plan, the training covered the key aspects which would help businesses promote to the travel trade.

Food and Drink Networking Evening – 23rd September

A variety of food and drink businesses came together at a networking evening at Prithvi recently. Cheltenham has an incredible food and drink offering and we want to put Cheltenham on the map as a destination for foodies. The evening was not just an opportunity to bring people together but to start to discuss what our food and drink focus could be, perhaps a gala dinner or a ‘restaurant week’. Breaking the Code – 26th September

Following on from the success of Cheltenham Remembers last year, Cheltenham Borough Council are working to create a large scale audio visual projection onto the Municipal Offices. This project will run over two nights during BID’s Light Up Cheltenham in February. Last week an event was held at the recently opened Hub8 with potential sponsors, we received great feedback and support from the businesses who attended and we’ll be working with a variety of businesses to support this event and to make it happen. Last but not least, digital stats:

September web stats were up versus last year with almost double the number visiting our site (45k over the month). This is a 15% decrease from the previous month but to be expected now the holiday season has passed. We’ve also welcomed 550 new followers to our social channels.
