Since the beginning of 2018, we have been working with journalist Nick to support Cheltenham’s inclusion in a Sunday Times feature on the Cheltenham Festival. Armed with the brief of providing the rounded Cheltenham experience, particularly for those who plan to go racing, but give the Festival a miss for a day or two, and the Marketing Cheltenham team enthusiastically provided Nick and his wife with a jam-packed itinerary of places to visit and things to do.

The feature, which was published in the paper on the 24th February 2018, offers a punters view away from the turf. Starting with the spa history of Cheltenham and King George III, before guiding readers on a tour of the Town, and inspiring race-goers and visitors alike to set out on foot around the town. Incorporating Pittville Pump Room, The Spa at Ellenborough Park, Cheltenham College for its film connections, The Wilson Art Gallery & Museum, Cleeve Hill, Walks with Hawks and Sudeley Castle and Gardens, the tour of the Town and surrounding area was extensive. Add to that foodie recommendations including The Tavern, East India Cafe, The Coconut Tree and The Enchanted Tea room, and it seems like people will be rolling home after the Festival. The article also included Nick’s first-hand experience of The Greenway Hotel & Spa, and no article on Cheltenham Festival would be complete without the do’s and don’t’s of racing.

As a result:

The Sunday Times published a one and a half page article all about Cheltenham, including many business details and content on The Festival.
