Cheltenham is one of the UK’s top family friendly destinations for holiday makers according to HolidayLettings.co.uk, a TripAdvisor company, and the UK’s leading holiday home booking site.
The spa town came ninth on the list of 15 spots, competing with Bournemouth, Poole and Truro, and beating St Andrews, Belfast and Cromer.
The list was compiled using an algorithm to analyse ratings and reviews for all of the company’s UK properties.
Tim Atkins, managing director for place and economic development at Cheltenham Borough Council, says: “Cheltenham is again punching above its weight and this has been proven through visitor reviews that it’s one of the best places in the UK for families to visit on holiday.
“It has an extremely attractive environment with its beautiful parks, festivals and events, and a shopping experience. Only a stone’s throw from the heart of the Cotswolds, it’s no wonder we score so highly for family visits.”
Laurel Greatrix, a spokesperson for Holiday Lettings, continues: “It’s easy to see why Cheltenham made it onto the list. Kids will love the indoor activity options including trampolining, parkour, and more. It’s the perfect destination for families wanting to spend some precious time together, surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Holiday home rentals are a wonderful option for families planning a trip,” continues Laurel. “Staying in a rental allows travellers to indulge in the comforts of home – such as extra space, flexibility and greater privacy – while on holiday.”
Kelly Ballard, manager, Marketing Cheltenham said: ‘This is really positive for Cheltenham. It proves that the combination of things to do in the town as well as easy access to the Cotswold countryside is important for families. This is especially good news for the Brewery Quarter which has lots of new things for families to do, from the cinema to the new indoor golf Mr Mulligans.”
