Number 6 part of National Citizen Service

Number 6 is a Grade II listed building in the centre of Cheltenham.  It forms part of the Cheltenham YMCA and offers budget accommodation to visitors to the town.

Over the summer months the team will be working with Young Gloucestershire, providing a meeting space as part of the National Citizen Service (NCS).

NCS is a four week experience for young people aged 15-17 that helps build confidence and self belief so that they can take on anything in life. The programme allows them to live away from home, develop skills and meet amazing people.

Number 6 are housing the teams for weeks three and four of their service where the young people volunteer their time to be involved with Social Action Projects – encouraging them to plan, fundraise and make a difference!

Centre Manager Darren Chandler says “As part of the local community we were only too happy to support this project.  Helping to develop young people and give them a positive start in life is part of our ethos and we have the facilities available on site to make it happen!”
