Could you be Cheltenham BID’s new Ambassador?

Ambassadors are the “eyes and ears” of the Cheltenham Business Improvement District (BID), some would even say the “secret heroes” of Cheltenham, sharing information with the town, its visitors and its businesses.

You may have seen the Ambassadors around in their purple jackets and green polo shirts, with “Here to Help you” on them. And they really are!

They are out in all weathers helping visitors to find the best places to shop, eat and drink and offer a genuine face-to-face experience. During the markets, they welcome more than 30 coachloads of people to the town.

The Around Town…festival programme, a set of free events that happens during each festival, is brought to you by the Cheltenham BID. The Ambassadors help make people aware of these events and guide them in the right direction.

If you’re in the town centre and notice a dirty bench, missing signpost etc. let the BID Ambassadors know and they’ll try to get it fixed. Monitoring and reporting on town centre activity and areas for improvement is just another string to an Ambassador bow.

The Cheltenham BID are now expanding the team and are looking for people who will be interested in this great part-time role. The flexibility the role brings means that some have other jobs, including at BID businesses.

Mimi Chasebi explained what she loves about being an Ambassador. She said: “As an Ambassador you get to meet so many people, you’re involved with everything in town and you feel so much fulfilment when you see something you’ve been trying to get improved implemented. It’s friendly and social and just so much fun!”
