Apply to become a Cheltenham Climate Changemaker

Do you want to make a real change in your community? Would you like to be part of something bigger, connecting and learning from others along the way?

Applications are now open for a hugely exciting pilot climate action project taking place in Cheltenham. Climate Changemakers are looking for around 10 people to join a peer-led learning journey to create real change in their communities.

You don’t need to be a climate expert, you only need to know your patch well, perhaps with an idea that could make your part of town better for people and the planet, and have an appetite for making things happen!

If you’re over 18 and can commit to attending the sessions, (mostly on Tuesday evenings) from April – November, then they’d love to hear from you. Financial support can be made available to help individuals attend who might not otherwise apply.

A huge thank you to Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucestershire County Council climate teams for funding this innovative project. Empowering the people who know their communities best to be the change they want to see.

More details and the online application form can be found here. Apply by 22nd March 2023.

The buyers before heading off on their hosted familiarisation and educational tours, will also attend the ‘Britain and Ireland Marketplace’ (BIM) on 27 January in which the wider region will be fully represented with set appointments with a range of operators from across a range of international markets

“The major challenge in front of us is not technical or financial. What’s needed is a mindset shift. Yet changing mindsets is not mentioned in many of the excellent climate action and nature conservation roadmaps that leaders consult. It’s time we called that out.
