Over the last few months, the Cotswolds Plus team have been focused on the travel trade, attending key travel trade events, replying to all the buyers and hosting Japanese buyers to discover the Cotswolds, with the aim of recovering this important market.
Events attended included Visit Britain’s Showcase Britain event networking with a range of buyers from across the globe, before an intensive day of one-to-one appointments at the Best of Britain and Ireland event in London.
This was followed by hosting eight Japanese buyers & Tomoko from VisitBritain Japan, giving them a wide-ranging tour of the region including staying at Ellenborough Park Hotel.
VisitBritain’s Nordic workshop followed in February where local food and drink, hiking and cycling were frequently requested products as well as local golf courses.
The last event of the trade season was ITB Berlin at the beginning of March. Where, alongside colleagues from Bath & Bristol Travel Trade, the team fielded a range of enquiries including suitable locations for a choir performance, classic cars, flower shows & lots of walking options.
The team are working hard to promote the wider Cotswolds Plus region including Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Forest of Dean & Wye Valley, Stroud & Worcestershire.
